5 facts you should know about Coco Chanel. Who is Your style icon?

Coco Channel is a revolutionary figure of her time. Her persona remains a powerful force in the world of style and fashion to this day. Coco is a pioneer in fashion. She believed in “expensive simplicity”, simple yet expensive designs. She has been acknowledged one of the most influential people of the 20th century.

1. Little black dress was designed by Coco Channel in 1920s. Today millions of women have chanelsuch a dress in their wardrobes. Fashion observers believe it a “rule of fashion” that every woman must own a simple, elegant black dress. Edith Piaf wore a sheath dress throughout her career. Critics considered that the dress focused audience more on her singing not on appearance. “A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion. 2. She adored pockets! Coco Chanel was extremely enchanted with pockets. Pockets were the main focus of her designs in women handbags! Enchanting designs make them versatile for different women. Chanel

3. It was just a hobby. Before Coco became a fashion legend, she used to work as a clerk in a small hosiery shop. Sometimes legends start from humble beginnings to grandeur! Chanel started her career by designing hats.
Later it became a deeper interest. Hats were innovative and fancy and soon became a hit among aristocracy in Paris.

5. Do you know that she has started the Sun tan!? Sun tanning didn’t become fashionable by accident. In 1923 when Coco was on a cruise she got burnt by sun rays. Hotel Ritz in Paris was her home for more than 30 years. German officer Dincklage (her lover) made arrangements for her to stay in the hotel. She met many famous celebrities Salvador Dali, Picasso, Romy Schneider, Churchill, Stravinsky, Jean Cocteau, Paul Morand,  the Duke of Westminster, André Malraux, Erik Satie and etc. She lived always free and often alone, like all remarkable individuals.
